About the Role
We are seeking a Sr Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be leading design efforts for producing power distribution and control systems for industry leading customers all over the world. Your work will be exciting and varied workin on projects which require knowledge of applications, electrical/electronics, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and safety. Never a dull day, and always a challenging problem to solve in a collaborative, goal-focused environment.
Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Oversee designs for low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, and control panels.
- Lead teams and staff development efforts through design reviews, development of internal training, and mentoring junior staff.
- Evaluate drawings and specifications to develop designs that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
- Develop one- and three-line power distribution drawings for electrical switchgear and detailed electrical schematics for controls.
- Provide guidance for sizing electrical power components such as transformers, current transformers, fuses, cabling, bussing, and circuit breakers per UL 891 and NEC standards.
- Develop sequences of operations and testing plans for power distribution and controls equipment.
- Support Maverick’s manufacturing, testing, quality, and field service teams to ensure proper implementation of designs.
- Configure or program devices such as PLCs, VFDs, protective relays, transfer switches, circuit breakers, and controllers.
- Lead interaction with other funchtions and locations to determine optimum product/process solutions.
- Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: developing engineering solutions for the custom low-voltage switchboards, switchgear, panelboards, and medium-voltage switchgear.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Skills:
- Working knowledge of UL 891, UL 508A, IEEE/ANSI, and NEC/NFPA 70E standards.
- Previous design experience with low and medium-voltage switchgear assemblies/systems and associated equipment is desirable.
- Manufacturing experience regarding the assembly of bills fo material, drawing packages, work instructions, and testing plans is a plus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.
Work Environment
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
