FULL-TIME OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST POSITIONS AVAILABLE AT HAWTHORNE COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL-MANHATTAN CAMPUS (SCHOOL AGE-SWD 1-6)

Organization Profile: Hawthorne Foundation Inc. serves children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Our educational, vocational and life skills programs are only a few of the programs available. We also offer parent training, recreational activities and crisis intervention.
Mission: An Applied Behavior Analysis approach to lifelong quality educational, habilitative, vocational and recreational programs for individuals with autism and other intellectual disabilities.
Vision: To foster independence, integration, individualization, and productivity while enhancing the quality of the lives for the people we serve. Our goal is to enable each and every individual to reach his/her maximum potential in the least restrictive environment by selecting and promoting educational practices that are grounded in research and science, in particular applied behavior analysis; and, to assist each individual with identifying and realizing his/her own goals.
Job Responsibilities (Occupational Therapist):
General Responsibilities:
Provide appropriate treatment to school age children as outlined in the IEP goals and directives.
Provide ongoing classroom communication with the teachers as well as the parents in regards to child’s progress and assist in home program implementation.
Acts as OT department liaison with institutes of higher education, for whom we are providing clinical training.
Responsibilities: The Occupational Therapist provides direct treatment of a minimum of 50 sessions per week at the School Age level
Daily completion and monthly completion of session notes for Occupational Therapy (OT) department.
Monthly updates and monitoring of OT attendance cards/databases.
The Occupational Therapist coordinates completion and collection of all OT reports, goals, and regression summaries
The Occupational Therapist ensures all paperwork in compliance with all regulatory agencies.
Instructional Programming/curriculum development to address OT needs of School Age students.
The Occupational Therapist assists in researching and ordering new equipment and supplies.
The Occupational Therapist attends parent and staff meetings and in-services offered by Hawthorne Country Day.
Conduct OT evaluations for students when requested by School Age Coordinator and School District(s).
The Occupational Therapist complies with on NYSED, DOH and HCDS paperwork requirements and IEP Direct
Complies with documentation requirements (including physician recommendations/ prescriptions)
Complies with all NYSED, DOH requirements/audits
Ensuring Medicaid compliance
The Occupational Therapist attends required trainings to ensure compliance with current requirements by NYSED, DOH, Medicaid and HCDS
The Occupational Therapist prepares closed files for storage at the end of each school year and summer
Take necessary courses/workshops to maintain OT licensure.

Required license or certification (if applicable): New York State Licensed Occupational Therapist

-Must meet Medicaid eligibility standards
-Willingness to complete Personalized System of Instruction (PSI) training modules in a timely manner.
-An ability and willingness to provide direct occupational therapy services to students with disabilities.Salary: $73,314- $85,107 Yr.
