Join us, and find out how many ways Virginia Mason offers you the chance to focus on what really matters - your patients.As a part of our organization, we currently offer the following additional benefits:- Competitive starting wages (DOE) and training to grow within the company- Paid Time Off (PTO) - Health/Dental/Vision Insurance- Flexible health spending accounts (FSA)- Matching 401(k) and 457(b) Retirement Programs- Tuition Assistance for career growth and development- Care@Work premium account for additional support with children, pets, dependent adults, and household needs- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your family- Voluntary Protection: Group Accident, Critical Illness, and Identify Theft- Education Loan Forgiveness for qualifying loans- Adoption Assistance- Wellness ProgramResponsibilities:This position uses occupational therapy expertise in the area of functional performance to assess a patient's level of independence, establish attainable goals, and develop/implement a patient-specific treatment plan so that patients are able to achieve their highest level of functioning for activities of daily living.We deliver inspired people to do meaningful work.Qualifications:We require:Entry Level (I)- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy with 6 month clinical internship.- Washington state license as an Occupational Therapist.- CPR certification.- Provides clinical treatment to patients including evaluation and diagnosis, direct treatment, family/caregiver training, and counseling patients and family members regarding status, prognosis, goals and progress.- Coordinates patient care with the rehabilitation team including medical staff nurses, and physicians- Coordinates patient care with non-medical staff rehabilitation team members including families, educators, early intervention agency staff and community support service agency staff.- Refers patients and family members to other professionals, agencies, and resources as appropriate.- Maintains and builds on current clinical knowledge and skills by attending continuing education activities.- Participates as a liaison with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care to the clients.- Contributes ideas for department and program development.- Advances toward assisting level of teaching/training for new staff, students, and interdepartmental classes.- Facilitates therapeutic interactions through group sessions.- Performs treatment planning; participates in team meetings; makes rounds and chart reviews.- Documents every physical therapy session including the patient's functional status.Staff Level (II)- Meets Entry Level (I) criteria as stated above.- Minimum 1 year work experience as an Occupational Therapist.- FTE status .5 FTE or greater.- Trains new staff and students in physical therapy protocols.- Acts as primary contact person for physical therapy needs via primary pager and/or primary floor liaison and/or related committees.- Instructs in interdepartmental and patient services as related to the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department.- Assists in department and program development.- Clinical Specialist or Senior Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Therapist.- Department criteria as determined by the management team.- Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, wound healing, and disease progression; an understanding of the base components, both physical and cognitive, of ADLs (assisted daily living) and levels of ADL independence. - -- The ability to customize, adapt, and graduate to a home or work site environment or to adapt to a given treatment plan and equipment.- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
