A healthcare organization in New York City is currently seeking a new Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) and/or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join their growing team on Staten Island.
Responsibilities:
The WHNP / CNM will:Perform routine well-woman exams and use these exams to screen for conditions such as cervical cancer and breast abnormalitiesProvide family planning services, including prescribing and fitting contraceptive methods, offering counseling on family planning options, and educating women about birth control choicesProvide prenatal care to pregnant womenDiagnose and treat various gynecological conditions, including menstrual disorders, urinary tract infections, and sexually transmitted infectionsManage the physical and emotional changes that come with menopauseEducate women about breast health and conduct breast exams to detect abnormalitiesProvide counseling and education on various health topics, including nutrition, exercise, stress management, and emotional well-beingPrescribe medications, including contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy, and medications for gynecological conditionsPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:
1+ year of related work experienceBachelor's DegreeActive NJS Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) and/or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skillsPatient orientedGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skillsStrong attention to detailHighly organized
