Senior Desktop Engineer

The Senior Desktop Engineer is responsible for evaluating the current desktop environment and leading the development of roadmaps and plans towards a more agile model for our customers. The Senior Desktop Engineer will be responsible for mentoring and coaching a team of desktop and support analysts through a series of projects aimed at advancing our organization to the next level of desktop technologies. For example, planning a Windows 10 deployment, MacOS High Sierra deployment, implementation of In-tune, integrating single sign-on into applications where appropriate.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead the team responsible for providing new and maintaining current Windows and Mac desktop imagesOwn building, maintaining, and supporting a base image for workstations including OS, drivers and software packagesBe an escalation point for Managed Workstation issues and end user ticketsMonitor and utilize the service desk ticketing system to resolve client issues in a timely mannerMaintain in-depth and up to date knowledge of industry standards, technology trends and best practicesIdentify trends in reoccurring tickets and focus on resolving globallyTarget automated or scripted fixes instead of manual one-offsCreate and maintain processes and documents pertaining to the managed workstation environmentStrong understanding and ability to use the following SCCM, Tanium, Casper, or other similar toolsMaintain knowledge of trends in technology relating to software application deliveryMaintain knowledge of trends in technology relating to strategic desktop managementBasic Qualifications:5-7 years of experience with managing Computers, both Windows and Mac platformsExpert knowledge of software distribution conceptsDemonstrated ability in desktop and systems designProven ability to offer high level desktop support in an enterprise environmentAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmentExcellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skillsStrong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilitiesMust be able to work collaboratively in a team atmospherePreferred Qualifications:MCSE Enterprise Devices and Apps or Data Platform or Server InfrastructureMS Specialist for Configuring Windows Devices or Planning for and Managing Devices in the EnterpriseMicrosoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or equivalentWorking knowledge or understanding of Tanium, Forcepoint, McAfee, SCCM, Casper, AzureAD Premium, EMS, In-Tune, Airwatch, Hyper-V, Azure and AWS Services
