A law firm in New York City is actively seeking an experienced Tax Accountant for a promising Senior-level position with their growing team. In this role, the Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for a variety of firmwide tax-related activities.
Responsibilities
The Senior Tax Accountant will:Prepare various Federal, State, and International business filings, local tax registrations, and sales/value added tax returnsReconcile tax accounts and payments while researching issues, as neededResearch Federal, State, and International tax issues and prepare memos, as neededAssist with projects like automation revolving state tax complianceCoordinate and monitor foreign tax obligations with internal and external teamsMaintain tax database/recordsPrepare and coordinate work papers for US and foreign tax returnsParticipate in the implementation of a new finance system pertaining to tax mattersWork with the Partner Accounting team on various tax-related issuesProduce tax reports for partnersPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:
5+ years of Tax Accounting experienceBachelor's Degree in AccountingExperience in a Public Accounting role/settingMicrosoft Excel proficientSolid analytical, mathematical, and research skillsGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organizedDesired Skills:
CPA and/or parts passedPartnership experience
