The person in this role will be responsible for the development of new audio processing algorithms and machine learning research initiatives. In addition to individual project work, this person will work with other project leads to plan and execute collaborations between the Algorithms Group and other groups within Starkey. We employ cutting edge signal processing and machine learning techniques and are looking for a senior level candidate to lead the way in machine learning.

Approach and Deployment

Research and develop machine learning methods for audio signal processing and create innovative solutions for wearable devices and related accessoriesProvide technical leadership in various machine learning and artificial intelligence research and development activitiesActively collaborate with other development groups to bring the innovative solutions to market in a timely mannerActively participate in and contribute to general machine learning and artificial intelligence infrastructure and knowledge development

Education

Job Requirements

Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required.Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.

Experience

A minimum of 4 years of applicable experience is required for candidates with a Masters degree. A minimum of 2 years of applicable experience is required for candidates with a Ph.D. degree.As part of the required experience, the candidate shall demonstrate his/her scholarly research track records in the form of publications and presentations.

Knowledge of traditional machine learning techniques such as linear regression, SVM, decision trees, random forests, etc. requiredKnowledge of modern machine learning techniques, such as deep learning requiredKnowledge of ML best practices including data experiment design, data processing, training, and testing requiredKnowledge of digital signal processing is requiredKnowledge of audio signal processing is desirableKnowledge of hearing enhancement highly desirableKnowledge of health and wellness monitoring desirableKnowledge of fixed-point algorithms design desirable
