DETAILS: Director of PurchasingCOMPENSATION: $115,000 - $155,000 Base, plus 12% Annual Bonus Potential, Benefits on day 1LOCATION: Greater Nashville TennesseeWe are looking for a Director of Purchasing that will be responsible for developing and administering purchasing policies and procedures and securing national contracts for goods and services for all facilities. Oversees sourcing, establishes requirements, and develops contracts through effective negotiation to bring optimal value to the organization. Develops and maintains relationships with facility personnel and vendors to ensure supply chain integrity. Manages process improvements and systems for the timely and accurate ordering of supplies, services, and equipment. Partners with other functional support department heads and Operations management to identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve quality, and assure optimal service to the facilities and other internal customers. Responsible for partnering with all business segments to provide subject matter expertise in strategic sourcing, and category management of direct materials to achieve goals and improve performanceDevelops and publishes requests for proposals for a wide and diverse array of supplies, equipment, and services, negotiates the best value price for each product specified, and secures preferred vendor agreements for goods and services for all facilities.Collaborates with Legal and Finance when necessary to review and approve contracts binding on the negotiated agreements. Assures the company's compliance to all terms, conditions, and stipulations as well as vendor performance and product quality.Develops and administers purchasing policies and procedures in collaboration with Finance and Accounting, Operations Support, and Legal. Establishes Purchasing Department goals and objectives that are in alignment with Operations and company objectives, assuring that best-demonstrated practices are followed.Utilizes best practices in strategic sourcing, contracting, and vendor development as well as allied supply management activities.Develops and publishes reports on key performance indicators to management and specific stakeholders. Periodically presents an overview of progress to Operations Management, Executive Management, and Board of Directors.Develops G&A and Capital Equipment budgets for the department in accordance with financial and operational guidelines. Approves invoices and expense reports and monitors actual expenses to the budget.Assures supply chain integrity and takes appropriate measures to reduce risks or address concerns. Oversees materials management activities for new build and leasehold improvement projects. Approves Facility Resource Ordering Guide for projects and pro forma development.Advises management and documents opportunities for cost savings and revenue streaming. Provides consultative support and specific expertise relative to procurement and supply management to Executives, Operations, and other functional departments.Oversees management of company travel and event planning, including budgeting, contracting, program compliance, and travel agency relationships.Domestic U.S. travel may be required.
REQUIREMENTS: Director of Purchasing
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field is required10+ years of relevant experience effectively managing procurements, vendor negotiations, supplies, equipment, and/or services supporting multiple facilities and departments is requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and understanding of Enterprise Resources Planning systems is requiredExceptional management, multi-tasking, collaboration, prioritizing, communication, organizational and staff management, and professional development skills required
