Handling will consist of the direct investigation of the facts of loss, evaluation of coverages, liability, damages, and negotiation of claims to a proper conclusion. May be involved with litigated files for experience and developmental purposes.**Hybrid Work From Home Opportunity****Key Responsibilities:**+ Determines policy status and coverage; reviews appropriate policies and endorsements for coverage, limits, and deductibles; immediately notify the manager of any claim that may be outside of the assigned scope of handling level or authority.+ Makes prompt contact with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and other parties involved in the loss to set expectations, develop an action plan and perform an initial exposure assessment+ Conducts investigation to determine coverage, liability, and damages, including recorded statements and coordination of field inspections or experts when necessary based on Department Best Practices+ Ensures regular and timely follow-up and brings claims to prompt and appropriate conclusion while keeping the customer informed throughout the life cycle of the claim process+ Maintains electronic records that accurately and thoroughly document all file handling activity+ Overnight travel may be required+ May be called upon to perform additional duties as directed.**??Overall Company Operations:**+ Provide exceptional customer service.+ Collaborate with co-workers by assisting in areas where and when needed.+ Exhibit positive demeanor and professional behavior toward coworkers, clients, and customers.+ Actively participate in personal goal setting and in the coaching and performance management process.+ Observe all company safety and health rules and apply these in all day-to-day activities+ Reasonable and predictable attendance is required.+ Actively participate in personal goal setting and in the coaching and performance management process.+ Observe all company safety and health rules and apply these in all day-to-day activities+ Reasonable and predictable attendance is required.???**Key Responsibilities Auto Damages:**+ 3+ years of auto claims handling or insurance-related customer service experience preferred.+ Identifies coverage issues and investigates if they are related to damages and transfers to the appropriate person to resolve if not.+ Makes prompt contact with policyholders and claimants to take statements, schedule the appropriate method of inspection and set repair and rental expectations.+ Responsible for deciding whether a vehicle is a total loss or probable total loss and takes steps to verify. Once a total loss is determined, works with the customer to resolve the claim on an actual cash value basis.+ Opens exposures, sets reserves and makes payments.+ Directs the handling of damage lawsuits.+ Manages the vehicle repairs ensuring the shop is timely with the repairs and approving or rejecting additional repairs based on industry standards and expertise.+ Identifies and refers SIU eligible claims based on department criteria.+ Verifies that there are no injuries on the claim and transfer them to the appropriate handler when discovered.**Minimum Experience/Education:**+ Minimum of 3 or more years of related professional experience. Previous experience within the insurance industry within the line of business is required.+ Industry designation such as AIC, CPCU preferred.+ High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education preferred.+ Obtain all required adjuster license within 180 days of employment.Communication and Collaboration Skills:+ Professional oral and written communication skills are critical to the success of this position. All claims service must be handled with tact, diplomacy, and courtesy at all times.+ Must be able to collaborate and develop strong team relationships with associates from within and outside the Claims Department.Customer-centric with exceptional customer service skills.Technical Knowledge:Must have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of insurance policies and endorsements, as well as the ability to understand complex documents, contracts, and other legal documents.Problem Solving:Gather facts and draw conclusions, interpret complex requirements/issues and work independently.
