We are seeking a skilled, motivated Commercial Construction Estimator to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for surveying projects, estimating labor and materials costs, and communicating financial cost and project timelines to customers.
Responsibilities
Analyzing requirement documents and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the projectPreparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or serviceDeveloping and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractorsManaging bids from vendors and contractorsUsing bid data to prepare detailed a cost analysisPresenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholdersCompiling and recording actual costsAssess projects by identifying project requirements, regarding time, labor, and material costsRead architectural and engineering drawings and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimatesCollaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracyPresent estimates to clients in a timely mannerRecommend cost-reduction/ value engineer optionsAssist project management team in final project preparation transactionsMaintain thorough records of all project documentation, including estimates, sales receipts, and project completion documentationUtilize cost estimating software such as Bluebeam to obtain quantities for materials being pricedMaintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid bidding processQualifications
Proficiency in mathematics and data analysisExcellent analytical skills and attention to detailReport writing and strategic planning skillsFamiliarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projectsExpertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managersAbility to read and interpret technical documentsExcellent written communication and interpersonal skillsExceptional time management skillsPrevious on-the-job training is requiredAbility to operate independently or with a teamInterpersonal communication skills, both written and verbalCritical thinking, analytical, and organizational skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Site (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Experience using cost estimating software Bluebeam1 - 3 years' of construction experience preferred
