We have grown to include four operating companies, with divisions located throughout the United States, providing a wide range of services including Industrial Painting and Specialty Coatings, Commercial Painting, Waterproofing / Sealants / Roofing, Specialty Contracting, and Insulation / Scaffolding / Abatement. We have provided expert services for a range of customers, including commercial building owners, high-tech manufacturing facilities, entertainment/sports complexes, U.S. and state governments, and major industrial facilities.WHAT YOU'LL DO:Analyze and evaluate project plans, specifications, scope, difficulty, and any other requirements necessary to prepare a job cost estimate and assemble bid packages.Prepare conceptual estimates and/or budgets.Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and unit pricing using established company production rates.When quantity survey is complete, establish profit & overhead for project if requested.Use the Request for Information (RFI) process when information is lacking.Inform VP of Estimating of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in plans and specifications.Maintain in the job file, all correspondence records and notes for the project being bid.Review and analyze all quotes to ensure they meet the standards and specifications for the project.Communicate with General Contractors, owners, vendors, and trades.Secure vendor pricing and select vendors and subcontractors by their cost effectiveness for each project.Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to completely cover scope in the most cost-effective way.Immediately respond to any vendor or subcontractor questions; resolve issues immediately and completely.Get written documentation on vendor and subcontractor quotes.Be proficient in project principles, policies, and procedures and apply them during the course of work.Participate in (and may lead) weekly planning meetings with estimating staff.Assist Project Managers with Buyouts on projects.Assist Project Manager with purchasing and any change orders on projects estimated as requested.Ensure Quality Assurance/Quality Checks are always in place.Job close-out and reviews.Attend pre-job meetings.Attend all estimating meetings.Attend project job walks as assigned.Be available on all bid days to assist in the collection and review of incoming quotes.Provide value engineering as requested.While it is impossible to list every duty that may be asked of an employee, the Employer may ask that an employee do other duties as the business need arises.WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:$110,000-$130,000 per year to start.Employee Stock Options.Starting annual PTO of 3 weeks per year.Monthly Technology stipend.Monthly Wellness stipend.100% employer-paid health coverage for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance for employees.Company-sponsored Employee Assistance Program.Company 401(k) plan.Company-paid parental leave for new parents.Leadership development and training for all employees.This is a hybrid position, working both in our office and from home.WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:Minimum of 10 years' experience in Construction.Minimum 5 years' experience in Estimating.Degree or certification in a related field.Strong working knowledge of Constructware and/or Viewpoint.5+ years formal experience in estimating commercial construction projects or experience in the planning or managing of engineering design or construction, or experience in overseeing large engineering projects.Professional education and/or experience in the construction and/or relevant industries.Thorough understanding of estimating and/or construction management.Significant level of overall experience in the design/construction field, specifically industrial and commercial construction.Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent math and organizational skills.Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.Proficient with Microsoft (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) with an ability to accurately learn new software quickly.Bidding - Gross Sales & Gross Margin.Accurate & Timely Bid Tasks.Take Offs.Leads - Projects secured.Communication; Documentation; Organization.Securing Vendor Pricing.Supervision of Estimators and/or Interns.NEXT STEPS:If you're interested in applying for this amazing opportunity, please send your resume to
