About the role

Reporting to the General Manager – High Performance, the Head of Talent and Development will be responsible for identifying and developing the next generation of State and Australian Players, Coaches and Match Officials. The Head of Talent and Development will lead the strategic direction and oversee CT’s talent pathway programs which include:

Male and Female Youth Pathway Programs

Cricket Tasmania Premier League Competition

Coach Development Program

Match Officials Program

Greater Northern Raiders Program

Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Establish and build transformational relationships with the talent pathway program leads to develop and implement robust talent identification and development programs to produce an oversupply of elite Tasmanian Players, Coaches and Match Officials.

Design and implement transparent talent pathway systems to attract and retain players, coaches and match officials across Tasmania.

Liaise and negotiate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to establish partnerships with clubs, schools and universities, to attract and support emerging players, coaches and match officials.

Advance the development of CT’s talent development systems ensuring researched best practice and continual improvement are at the forefront of player, coach and match official acquisition.

About you

You will have experience in leading talent pathway programs and an understanding of best practice talent identification and development tools or platforms.

You will have proven experience in progressing talent through to the highest level.

You will have experience in mentoring and developing coaches.

You are an innovative thinker with the ambition to deliver leading talent identification and development programs.

You will work with a collaborative approach, leading and mentoring your team to get the best performance from all.

You will have ability and desire to influence key stakeholders and your high level of emotional intelligence equips you to reflect on your own, and others’, performance with the aim of continual improvement.

You exhibit genuine passion in the pursuit of achieving CT’s 2026 Strategy.

You have experience in a similar role.

You have highly developed organisational and prioritisation skills and experience in managing multiple priorities within tight timelines.

You can work flexibly outside of regular office hours if required.

You have a Current Working with Vulnerable People registration or the willingness to obtain this registration.
