The
Senior Field Applications Engineer
will report to Sales Manager. The candidate must have a strong background in
analog
electronics, with a key emphasis on AC/DC switch mode power supplies (SMPS) in the mid to low power market ( hands-on
experience in
SMPS
design and the ability to perform detailed bench work to help sales engineer support and choose PI solutions for customers.
To be successful in this role, candidates must be very efficient managing multiple projects, be very responsive for sudden support demands, and very delicate with customer relations.
Key
Responsibilities
Provide full technical support for PI Sales Engineers on their qualified design projects Review full customers designs and assist with all technical issues Debugging and solving all customers technical problems with basic functionality, thermals, EMI, and efficiency Build, test, and document new prototypes for customers utilizing PIs product Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks to keep up with customers support Qualifications
BSEE (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering) required Minimum 8 yrs. working experience with AC/DC SMPS Experience in power electronics topologies (Buck, Flyback, LLC, and PFC converters preferably) Magnetic hands-on design and building experience Experience in applications/uses and/or design of end equipment using control ICs & power semiconductors Strong analytical and laboratory skills including EMC equipment Working knowledge of EMI and Safety standards It is desired that the candidate resides in the Detroit, MI area.
