Job Title : Senior Storage Engineer- Hybrid ( Only local candidates - must send documentation with name/address ) Location: Seattle, WA - Hybrid up to 3 days a week on site Job Type : Hybrid Duration : 12 months -potential contract to hire Opening : 1 Opening Senior Systems and Storage Engineer Job Description Summary This role will focus on the engineering and support of compute technologies in the Washington and Minneapolis data centers. The senior engineer will be responsible for all aspects of engineering, administration, enhancement, and problem resolution for Parametric's server and storage environment. This includes evaluating Brokerage(MS) requirements for the Parametric environment and adopting MS standards where appropriate and several other integration related projects as noted in the responsibilities below. This resource should have extensive experience with HPE blade technology and storage technology such as HPE Nimble/Alletra (iSCSI) and NetApp, in support of an extensive VMware environment. This resource should also be familiar with VMware, Microsoft Windows server support, and disaster recovery solutions. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - The Systems Engineer is responsible for planning, testing and implementing business solutions involving our VMware Private Cloud. - Server & Storage evaluation and standardization to MS standards for Cost, Efficiency, and operational savings to the firm. - Server & Storage Security Architecture & Decom Process documentation - Datacenter consolidation planning, buildout, and configuration of Storage & Servers - Creating documentation and cutsheets for installation of Servers & Storage remote hands installation. - Server & Storage Reporting for Security and Compliance; including the automation of recurring reporting to meet MS requirements. - Server & Storage Back-up solution work: Migrating from Veeam to Rubrik and improving backup policies to realize cost savings. - FileShare Migration & Information Repository Metadata projects. Windows to NetApp standard - Server & Storage Break/Fix in coordination with third party support and remote hands. - Creating project outlines and scope documents for prioritized projects - Maintain accurate documentation of topology, systems, services and configurations - Assists in implementing and maintaining security controls for new and existing technology systems - Monitor, Manage and support all of Parametric's Server/Storage infrastructure - Works with the leadership team to plan for yearly budgeting of new projects and systems - Provide engineering support for all escalated issues from Support Desk as needed - Drives continuous improvement efforts that contribute towards our constantly evolving technical and organizational maturity goals - Maintain and support our growing Hybrid Cloud (VMWare/AWS) - Strict adherence to controls and policies in a Financial/Banking environment. - Other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS - College degree and financial industry experience preferred - 5 years of experience in engineering business solutions in a wide range of technologies - Expertise in working with Datacenter Remote Hands to perform any hands-on required work in relation to Installation, Break/Fix, and Decommissioning is a must. - Specific experience with VMware, vSphere, and vCenter/VDI. VMware Certifications is a plus. - Experience with Integration efforts as a result of acquisitions is a plus. - Expertise in server systems both stand alone and blade chassis (HPE Synergy) - Experience with scripting (PowerShell/PowerCLI mainly) - Expertise in Windows, Active Directory, SQL and Exchange management - Expertise Visio, Office, and other collaboration systems and management - Expertise with Systems Architecture, Networking, Cloud technologies and Storage (HPE NimbleAlletra) - Expertise with Enterprise Anti-Virus, logging, monitoring, and backup (Commvault/Rubrik) systems - Experience with AWS and VMware Hybrid Clouds - Strong organizational and time management skills - Strong problem-solving and resolution ability - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner - Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences, including non-technical users - Experience working in a fast paced, high-effort, dynamic work environment - Maintaining a professional helpful demeanor - Strong sense of accountability and ability to work under minimal supervision.
