Director - Pricing and Packaging Strategy & Operations

The Director – Pricing and Packaging Strategy & Operations will centrally drive Pricing and Packaging (PnP) initiatives across the Moody’s Analytics business in order to drive revenue growth across MA customer segments and operating units (OUs).

An exciting new strategic role is available in the Product Packaging and Pricing Strategy team to improve and evolve MA Pricing Strategy.

It offers an unparalleled opportunity to drive commerciality, revenue growth, efficiency and performance across the whole of MA on a global scale with direct access to a wide range of senior management and product leaders.

This will suit a driven, strategic-minded and operationally astute Pricing and Packaging expert but also represents a strong continual individual growth and learning opportunity.

This position sits in the Moody's Analytics (MA) Central Product group and will interact with Operating Units and business SMEs on a daily basis.

Key roles and responsibilities for this individual would include:

RoleDrive MA-wide pricing and packaging initiatives while supporting Operating Units to execute on their strategic growth initiativesDefine and implement best in practice pricing and packaging strategies to support MA’s strategic growth initiativesWork collaboratively across the MA organization and manage key stakeholders – MA Leadership, Product Management and Product Strategy, Pricing SMEs, Business Systems, FP&A, SalesChampion transparency and collaboration at all levels of the business to accelerate key PnP initiatives, especially where cross-OU cooperation is requiredDrive improved efficiency of internal activities – e.g., operational work required to launch new products and develop pricing frameworks, consistent standards around various commercialization scenarios, enterprise contract construction and reviewCollaborate with various operational, analytics and strategy teams to develop pricing analytics and drive adoption of analytics and KPIs to inform Pricing and Packaging strategiesOwn and deliver key PnP projects to drive growth – e.g., customer segment strategies, workflow strategies, data driven pricing guidance

ResponsibilitiesReview various ongoing pricing and segmentation analysis – determine insights and recommendations related to pricing structures, price points, go-to-market strategiesStructure and perform regular review of MA pricing, including: customer segmentation, customer use case, discounting, pricing uplift etc.Build and deliver presentations for senior management to inform MA pricing strategies and opportunitiesDrive cross-MA pricing alignment and simplification strategy; work with various business and technical stakeholders to improve MA pricing/ deal workflowPlan and execute regular pricing increase/ update activities and facilitate pricing/ sales strategyPartner with key stakeholders to determine and drive MA acquisitions’ integration plans related to Commercial Strategy, Product and PricingSupport regular market/ competitive assessment activities to identify and prioritize opportunities based on customer needs, market trendsTranslate recommendations into executional plan and collaborate across other teams for effective and timely implementationImprove MA-wide Pricing IQ through workshops and coaching non-pricing teams

Qualifications & ExperienceUndergraduate/ bachelor’s degree required in a business-related discipline; advanced degree preferredDeep expertise in the area of Pricing and Packaging – experience in digital B2B preferredKnowledge of key industry and market trends related to pricing and also that have the potential to disrupt market dynamics impacting pricingStrong research and analytical skills, able to structure complex problems, effectively search for key relevant information, and summarize core findings for various audience in the organizationCritical thinking and ability to understand and bring to bear MA-wide vision to improve tactical and strategic decisionsExcellent presentation skills and analytical skills (PPT, XLS). Comfortable telling stories with dataStrong cross-team stakeholder management experienceSelf-starter and can-do attitude - ability to manage multiple projects and ensure timelines and objectives are metKnowledge/comfort level with data visualization tools such as Power BI/ Tableau a plusKnowledge of MA products and pricing strategies a plusPrior experience in pricing research (e.g. Conjoint, Van Westerdorp, Gabor-Granger) in B2B a plusKnowledge of SalesForce.com as well as pricing and billing systems preferred10+ years commercial, business performance and/or pricing experience preferred

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is

$160,100.00 to $232,100.00 , depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a completion bonus. Moody’s also offers insurance and a discounted employee stock purchase plan for limited duration employees.
