JOB DESCRIPTION
206 licensed beds pediatric hospital. Level I trauma center. Only pediatric ER in the regional area and serves more than 50,000 children annually.
At least 3 years' experience in peds. Must be an RRT. The RRT will be willing to work with Vented patients in areas such as NICU, PICU, Pediatric General Care area as well as ED. Someone who has PALS BLS certification is required ASAP. 13 week contract. 36 hours per week every other weekend The needs are on rotating shifts This position has a call requirement that will be discussed in the interview.
QUALIFICATIONS
Work ExperienceApproximately three to six months or related experience, preferred, in order to learn sterile techniques, become familiar with anesthesia equipment and cleaning procedures, and learn inventory techniques.Excellent critical thinking skills, communication and organizational skills and ability to remain current in knowledge of critical carePrevious Travel experience preferredEMR two years of experienceLicense/Registration/Certification
Current registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist from the National Board of Respiratory Care.American Heart Association (AHA) certification such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) designation is required and/or must be obtained.American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) certification such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) designation is required and/or must be obtained.ACLS/BLS - American Heart AssociationPALS - American Heart AssociationEducation and Training
Associates degree in Respiratory Care is required.Bachelor's degree is preferred.Must have interpersonal skills to communicate detailed clinical observations and evaluations with other members of the healthcare team.Analytical skills necessary to assess patient/family needs, prioritize care based on assessments and develop solutions to problems concerning patient's mental or physical well-being.Physical Requirements - Must be able to push, pull, bend, and ambulate without assistance.
