As a Software Engineer, you are comfortable developing and testing embedded software that interacts with other components. You are scrappy and eager to be hands-on in a program’s early stages and willing to evolve as the program moves into production. You will work closely with the product and engineering teams and help hasten our path to market with an exceptional vehicle that redefines RVing.ResponsibilitiesHelp develop the first version of Lightship’s body control softwareContribute to Lightship's power system controller softwareCollaborate with team to help select hardware for vehicle controlsDefine communication interfaces and requirementsReview code, analyze stability, and manage bugsDevelop and execute a software test suite to ensure reliabilityOptimize software by performing maintenance, updates, and upgradesAssess third party and open source softwareKeep up to date with relevant software standards and advancements in embedded system developmentPrior Experience & Professional QualitiesBS or above in computer science, electrical/computer engineering, or related field2+ years experience developing software/firmwareProven experience in embedded systems software development, including preemptive, real-time architecturesIn-depth knowledge of CAN busProficient coding in C/C++Knowledge of C compliant languages such as Java and PythonBasic knowledge of Linux operating systemsExperience deploying software across a variety of platformsUnderstanding of microprocessors and associated peripheralsAbility to read schematics and component data sheetsYou enjoy developing software and create value by solving problemsYou bring an entrepreneurial mindset to your work and are comfortable with uncertaintyEquityLightship compensation consists of the yearly salary above plus equity, which gives you a stake in the company.$110,000 - $150,000 a yearOnsite/Hybrid WorkHybrid roles at Lightship require onsite work from our offices Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tuesdays and Fridays are optional work from home days, when your work will be executed more successfully from home.
