As an Electrical Engineer, you are comfortable designing, building, and testing control and communication circuitry. You are scrappy and eager to be hands-on in a program’s early stages as well as willing to evolve as the program moves into production. You will work closely with the software team and help hasten our path to market with an exceptional vehicle that redefines RVing.ResponsibilitiesCreate board requirements from high level product requirementElectrical component analysis and selectionDesign main control and interface circuitry for vehicleDesign and/or support design of PCBsFully bench test completed PCBAsWork closely with software team to verify functionalityDevelop and execute a test suite to ensure performance and reliabilitySupport integration testing via data analysis, troubleshooting, and debuggingSupport supplier management and requirements definitionProvide input in manufacturing of PCBAsCollaborate with other teams to optimize system designLead circuit design reviewsTechnical mentorship and guidance to growing team of electrical engineersMinimum QualificationsBS, MS (preferred), or above in Electrical EngineeringMinimum 7 years experience as an electrical design engineerExcellent knowledge of electrical schematics and control circuitryProven experience in microprocessor and associated peripheral designUnderstanding of communication hardware interfaces such as ADC, CAN, I2C, and WiFiHighly experienced in circuit simulationExperience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as AltiumPreferred QualificationsUnderstanding of EMI/EMCComfortable with high voltage test equipmentGeneral understanding of electric power systemsGeneral understanding of automotive standards for PCBAsYou are self-directed and are motivated to design the best system possibleYou bring an entrepreneurial mindset to your work and are comfortable with uncertaintyEquityLightship compensation consists of the yearly salary above plus equity, which gives you a stake in the company.$180,000 - $210,000 a yearOnsite/Hybrid WorkHybrid roles at Lightship require onsite work from our offices Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tuesdays and Fridays are optional work from home days, when your work will be executed more successfully from home.
