R.J. O'Brien & Associates LLC is the oldest and largest independent futures brokerage and clearing firm in the United States. We are currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst to partner with business leaders throughout the firm to understand how to bridge the gap between their needs and delivery of a technical solution. The job will include collection and analysis of business requirements as well as drafting of project proposals, business requirements and creation of functional specifications. The role will require interaction with business leaders, system users, internal development teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 8 years experience working as a business analyst.Duties & Responsibilities:

Act as a consultant to senior management and all stakeholders who have a need for new or revised functionalityCollect, analyze, document, and review business requirements with project stakeholdersCreate functional specifications and review them with development teamsDocument and design business, data, process or workflows that show current and future flowsReview, analyze, and document changes to business processes that could benefit from improvementsScope projects, create project plans and collaborate with developers to create work estimates and schedulesOrganize meetings to track project status, manage deadlines and work with IT to meet project requirementsHelp manage and provide governance for company project portfolio artifacts for project prioritization, decision making, resource management, communications, metrics and reportingAssist in development of testing plans and scriptsSupport end user testingHelp, plan and participate in testing and facilitate implementationManage, train and evaluate less experienced analystsQualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge and provide examples of recent experience working as a Business Analyst and / or Project Manager in the brokerage industry for a sell side firm. Candidate should have a general sense of the trading, clearing cycle, risk and regulatory backdrop in the brokerage industry.Confidence in working with a diverse group of colleagues across multiple geographies and multiple levelsA collaborative approach to problem solvingFamiliarity with elicitation skills to understand business processes and needs.Ability to document business requirements.Ability to translate business requirements to a clear and logical functional specification that is coherent to IT developers and QAUnderstand key concepts and standard methods employed by BA and PM roles in an organizationEnthusiastic self-starter who takes initiativeSKILLS DESIRED:

Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on internal client serviceExperience in overseeing, directing, training and evaluating other business analystsAble to produce clear system process and workflow diagramsFamiliarity and experience with various system development life cycle methodologiesExperience working for a brokerage firmDemonstrate familiarity with business systems and process flows within the brokerage industry (front, middle or back office)It is the policy of R.J.
