The AR Accountant will oversee all bookkeeping and accounting functions related to invoice processing, customer receipts, and year-end regulatory reporting, leading the Accounts Receivable processes.Work Location & Environment:
Bellwether Housing's Administrative Building is located in the South Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle.Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm, with flexibility; final schedule to be determined by supervisor. Mondays and Fridays on-site in SLU.Your ImpactRespond and research customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.Knowledge of HUD and property condo billings.Understanding of tenant ledgers and application of subsidy payments.Keep current on IRS vendor reporting requirements.Assist in the preparation of the annual audits.Process all accounts receivable activity through the ERP system.Maintain an up-to-date billing system.Ensure customers, vendors, and government agencies are billed in accordance with agreed upon terms.Ensure timely deposits of incoming receipts and post to customer subsidiary ledger.Research billing inquiries and resolve noted discrepancies and posting errors.Prepare an analysis of aged receivables and investigate and resolve outstanding balance.Reconcile the AR aging report to the general ledger.Reconcile AR balance sheet accounts.Assist the department with posting AR accruals at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.Ensure internal controls and Bellwether policies are applied to all transactions.Continually assess AR system for process improvements.Collaboratively work with other departments to resolve posting/billing issues, when applicable.Undertake other duties as assigned by Controller.RequirementsWho You Are:Experience with Yardi Voyager 7S.Three years’ experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing using an ERP system.Accounting experience, including the ability to propose routine journal entries for accounts receivable.Experience working with Microsoft Office applications.Ability to properly prioritize competing priorities.Good verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Multi-entity experience.Education RequirementsAssociate degree in accounting or equivalent experience.Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.What We Offer:
