SUMMARY:As an integral member of the Nuclear Medicine team, the technologist performs general Nuclear Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology and PET/CT procedures as outlined in the procedure manuals. The technologist must be capable of all digital post processing of patient data for physician interpretation; paper scanning to PACs; maintaining current knowledge of and utilizing PACS to view, manipulate and archive digital images of data in final image formation; operating, troubleshooting and ensuring equipment and instruments are performing in an effective and efficient manner; preparing written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results; and participating in educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities.QUALIFICATIONS:

Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) in Nuclear Medicine requiredCAMRT Specialty Certificate in CT Imaging is an assetMember of CAMRT preferredBasic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certificationKnowledge and experience with angio catheter insertions, IV skills and insertionExcellent problem recognition and problem solving skillsEffective time management skills; ability to organize work and set prioritiesProven effective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively independently or as a team memberAbility to work accurately and multi-task under stressful conditionsGood computer skills in Word, Excel and emailDemonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional developmentAwareness of hospital emergency codes and proceduresKnowledge of ECG setup and basic interpretationFamiliarity with different equipment, makes and modelsExperience and exposure to teaching and student mentoringExcellent work performance and attendance record
