Leads both long- and short-term strategic consultation and planning efforts for client benefit programsEnsures programs and plan design are in alignment with all applicable regulatory requirementsUtilizes intermediate knowledge of actuarial concepts and underwriting practices to analyze claims data and provide applied explanation to the client and internal teamDirects the service teams’ work assignments related to project management, claims escalation and resolution, and plan analysis/reporting

Carrier and Vendor Relationships

Develops strong carrier and vendor relationships to support and leads negotiation and advocacy during client coverage placement and renewal process, utilizing department peers and/or leadership as necessaryCoordinates with internal subject matter experts and practice leaders to bring current and emerging markets and products and brings solutions to the table that are aligned with clients’ stated goals through a commitment to continuous learning

Production Partnership

Participates in finalist and/or prospect meetings in partnership with production staff as appropriateParticipates in the development of prospect requests for proposals (RFPs), providing personnel responses and other information as requestedPartners with production staff to ensure compensation received is properly executed

Internal Resource

Availability to serve as a resource for other agency benefits staff throughout the entire benefits divisionStrong commitment to participation in department or agency-wide committees and special projects

You Should Have5+ years of similar or related broker experience requiredDemonstrates above average business acumen related to strategy execution, interdependencies, and decision consequencesDemonstrates positive mindset and ability to optimize performance through collaborationDemonstrates consistent ability to adapt in stressful situations and develop strategies for improvements in organizational effectivenessDemonstrates advanced skills with MS Office SuiteDemonstrates strong ability and commitment to excellence in communication, both written and oral, through active listening, information sharing, and a focus on solutionsAttains and maintains Life and Health licensure4-year degree in business or related discipline preferredThis Job Description is not a complete statement of all duties and responsibilities comprising this position.Salary Range$91,300—$124,100 USDCompensation & BenefitsBeing a part of IMA has its benefits.
