The Associate Manager – Accounts Payable and Inventory Controllership is a key member in supporting Best Buy’s Accounts Payable business. Reporting under Merchandising Controllership, this is a great opportunity for those seeking to solve unique accounting challenges, implement system related efficiencies, lead cross functional projects, and provide solutions to challenges faced in these businesses. This role offers a broad range of responsibilities and will work closely with the Accounts Payable and Merchant business teams, FP&A, and other various Controllership teams to ensure the integrity of the financial statements of Best Buy.

This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What You'll Do

Manage month end close processes for Merchandise Accounts Payable and Inventory which includes reviewing and approving journal entries, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, and analyzing and communicating results to P&L stakeholders.Identify automation and efficiency opportunities and implement more efficient solutions to enhance our accounting processes while using latest technology.Assist with integrating legacy systems and processes to Enterprise level systems and processes.Represent Controllership’s interests in cross departmental, organizational wide projects.Ensure accurate, consistent application of GAAP for the Merchandise Account Payable and Inventory businesses.Support the growth and development of two direct reports.Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.4+ years of relevant accounting/accounts payable/finance experience.Intermediate proficiency in ERP and/or subledger systems, and Excel.Preferred Qualifications

BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance.Experience applying US GAAP to complex, and judgmental situations.Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation).Experience with system integrations and/or implementations.Experience with project management or influencing without authority.Experience with formally or informally supervising a colleague through a project or task.Demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically and work with business partners.CPA.
