Data AnalystMission

Solugen’s mission is to decarbonize chemicals manufacturing. With Solugen’s first 10,000 tpy commercial plant up and running in Houston, TX the company is continuing to expand with new commercial plants under development and new molecules being developed for commercialization. This role will be crucial in helping Solugen make more informed decisions by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting key business data. The Data Analyst supports the individual departments in identifying business data needs, developing tools to analyze and visualize the data, as well as facilitating cross-departmental dialog for inter-departmental data requests. The successful candidate will be able to work well in an evolving and dynamic environment with many competing demands and work closely with leadership to ensure focus is kept on the highest priority work.Key Responsibilities

Identify and collect data from data sources including: databases, spreadsheets, surveys, and external sources; ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.Clean and preprocess data to remove duplicates, missing values, and outliers, as well as structuring data for analysis and modeling.Apply statistical and data analysis techniques to explore, analyze, and extract meaningful insights from data, identifying trends, patterns, and correlations within the data.Develop visual representations of data using tools like charts, graphs, and dashboards to more effectively communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.Generate reports and presentations summarizing key findings, insights, and recommendations via data-driven insights to support decision-making.Conduct hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and other statistical methods to draw conclusions from data using predictive modeling and forecasting.Develop and maintain data pipelines and workflows while ensuring data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR).Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate data findings into actionable recommendations.Identify and solve complex data-related problems.Develop data-driven solutions to address business challenges.Stay up to date with the latest data analysis techniques, tools, and industry trends.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and business stakeholders, to effectively communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences.Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency throughout the analysis process.Other activities as defined by the department head.

Hands-on Data Analytics experience – report and dashboard design and development, data analysis, and other data administration functions including collection, integration, and distribution.Experience working with integrating large, disparate data sets to allow cross-functional reporting and dashboarding.Experience with data historians and visualization tools.Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.Familiarity with data storage and manipulation platforms like Excel, databases, and data warehousing solutions.Understanding of the industry and business context to provide relevant insights.Ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical users.Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within the larger business initiatives.Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements.Proactively identify issues and improvement opportunities – think through and provide suggestions for solving issues and improving processes.Continuously be learning – be able to step outside his/her comfort zone regularly and learn new skills to bring to bear on the job.Proactively establish relationships across the organization – be the first to make contact and listen to the needs of end users to help improve their experience with technology.Have a full awareness and support for our health and safety programs – demonstrate by volunteering for related projects/presentations and vocalize your support in appropriate settings.Company Specific

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management); a Master's degree is a plus.Proficiency in data analytics tools, business intelligence platforms, and data visualization tools.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Knowledge of relevant data privacy and security regulations.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.Chemical manufacturing industry experienceExperience with:
