Key Responsibilities:Develop and sustain how-to guides and business-centric articles that advocate for the strategic utilization of the Data Catalog, thereby driving business value in accordance with Data Governance standards.Manually construct and refine lineage diagrams within the Alation platform, leveraging the Manual Lineage Curation feature to ensure accuracy and clarity.Formulate catalog sets to systematically cluster data entities, facilitating mass modifications on custom fields to streamline data management processes.Establish and perpetuate business glossaries, sanctioning cross-functional terminology to foster organizational coherence.Manage content workflow by submitting articles for peer review and engaging in constructive dialogues to refine data narratives.Implement and oversee tagging strategies to promote standardization and compliance with established data conventions.
Must-Have Technical Skills/Experience:Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and scripting tasks.Experience with Hadoop ecosystem for handling large-scale data sets.Solid foundation in business analysis to align data initiatives with business goals.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.Certification in Alation Data Catalog or equivalent experience.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
Flex Skills:Familiarity with alternative data management tools and willingness to adapt to new technologies.Versatility in learning and applying different versions of software pertinent to data cataloging and governance.
