Client Information:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) focus on high impact prevention of HIV—by preventing new HIV infections, improving health outcomes for persons with HIV, and reducing HIV related disparities and health inequities.
DHP develops and maintains a variety of data and information systems to support its mission, including systems to collect, transmit, store, and analyze data for HIV/AIDS surveillance, epidemiology, and program monitoring and evaluation. We are looking for IT and public health partners including statisticians, researchers, behavioral scientists, computer scientists, public health advisors/analysts, budget analysts, and other program staff.
Responsibilities:
Manage, maintain, and update configuration management (CM) systems to ensure reliable and accurate control of IT assets and configurations.
Develop and implement configuration management plans for software releases, system updates, and network changes.
Oversee the configuration management database (CMDB) to track asset and configuration items and ensure alignment with the IT infrastructure.
Coordinate with IT teams to facilitate effective change management processes and ensure minimal disruption during system updates.
Audit and review system configurations to ensure compliance with internal and federal guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
6+ years of professional experience in configuration management or related roles.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration management or a related field.
Strong understanding of configuration management principles and practical application in large, complex IT environments.
Experience with CM tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or SaltStack.
Proficient in version control tools such as Git, SVN, or Mercurial.
Preferred:
Experience working in a federal or regulated environment with stringent compliance requirements.
Background in managing IT projects within healthcare or public health sectors.
Certified Configuration Manager (CCM).
ITIL Certification focusing on Service Transition or Service Operation.
