is an important role with Star Nursery. The successful delivery of product to residences or job sites leaves the end-user with the best impression of Star Nursery and its product and services. This is a Safety-Sensitive position that requires an exceptional driving record and valid credentials to drive our insured vehicles.
Job DescriptionFully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicleDrive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) under 26,000 lbs.Pick-up and safely transport goods, etc. to intended destinationEnsure contents are properly secured in truck, flatbed or bucket to prevent damage/injuryObtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveriesAssist in mapping driving routesStay on predetermined route and ensure timely transport and deliveryCommunicate with dispatch as neededConfirm that the contents of each shipment load match the manifest documentPerform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each tripCheck weather conditions and road reports before departureAlways ensure your vehicle is kept cleanMaintain, log and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encounteredFollow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate timesAdhere to company rules and regulationsObey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditionsOSHA Safety complianceMaintenance of appropriate paperworkPull orders, load and deliverTimely delivery of ordersTransferring merchandise between storesMinimum Driver Requirements
Have a validDriver License with proper endorsements in the applicants' state of residenceNo current driving record suspension or revocationApproved Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) & Pre-Employment Background checks.Ability to drive Manual Transmission VehiclesPhysical Requirements
Ability to push/pull 50 lbsAbility to lift 50 lbs
