Look no further, we are hiring for a talented Site Procurement Lead to join our Northridge, CA Team.Core Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary procurement contact for the site in management forums (i.e., tier 3 & 4).Oversee 1-2 site buyers / direct reports, providing guidance on goal setting, prioritization, and resolving escalated issues.Collaborate with cross-functional senior-level stakeholders in manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and other functions to lead operational procurement activities.Develop and enhance processes, introduce innovative solutions, and focus on achieving the site’s daily and long-term goals.Support the continuity of on-site manufacturing operations by managing multiple priorities with minimal guidance.Address issues from a broad perspective, presenting data and best practices in various forums at both site and network levels.Oversee the design and execution of procurement activities related to product manufacturing.Ensure seamless customer service by working closely with internal partners in enterprise Procurement, Operations, Facilities, Maintenance, Engineering, Finance/Admin departments, and sales.Assist category managers in evaluating and implementing strategic initiatives for direct and indirect materials at the site.Drive the development and execution of regional sub-category strategies in collaboration with category managers.Manage the site procurement training curriculum (if applicable), review procedures, and create new SOPs/WIs.Help internal business partners with purchasing processes, from order placement to delivery tracking, and assurance of receipt of goods, addressing any issues that arise.Handle escalations and manage expectations during material supply disruptions, ensuring effective communication with the site.Work closely with local FP&A and Accounting to ensure purchase orders correctly capture financial data, and purchasing processes are effective in ensuring financial discipline.Support Accounts Payable and stakeholders with addressing vendor, invoice, and purchase order discrepancies and lead efforts to streamline processes and improve cross-team interaction and effectiveness.Actively seek and track cost reduction opportunities aligned with overall business strategies.Establish annual standard costs for acquired materials, goods, and services from assigned suppliers.Drive cost improvement and budget reduction efforts to achieve favorable variances versus standard costs and achieve year-over-year standard cost reductions.Collaborate with relevant departments to assist development of operating budgets through effective communication of supplier pricing and related cost improvement initiatives.Supplier and Category Management
Establish and maintain communication with category managers; provide appropriate feedback on supplier performance aspects and escalate major supply disruptions in a timely basis.Lead local Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program for Direct Materials and participate in supplier visits for direct materials consumed.Lead Procurement activities related to existing and new supplier qualifications, readiness, assessment, and execution of projects including tech transfers.In collaboration with enterprise resources, support site supplier risk assessments across suppliers (and categories) and work with global teams to ensure segmentation of key relationships. Evaluate supply base risk, develop, and execute agreed, prioritized plans to mitigate supply, quality, compliance, and cost vulnerabilities.Support Impact Assessments related to new product launches and new suppliers.Lead site functional teams throughout sourcing, negotiation, contracting and overall supplier selection lifecycle. Incorporating RFx team scorecards, due diligence checks, and other pre-award justifications, as necessary.Participate in vendor business reviews with strategic suppliers.Partner with clients and internal development teams to align selection of appropriate suppliers with agreed upon supplier strategies and relevant category and business plans.Develop and execute compelling business cases, support category and supplier management strategies that drive increased value in a financially constrained environment, through collaboration with key stakeholders, across but not limited to manufacturing, quality, technology and engineering, supply planning, engineering, and with our commercial partners.Analyze and summarize RFx responses and results and prepare recommendations for executive leadership.Develop strategies and execute negotiation plans to maximize total value and minimize risks in intended supplier agreements.Partner with Quality to support the following activities; local Supplier Quality Agreements, Supplier Change Management, Supplier Corrective Action Requests.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Degree: Bachelor’s in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Packaging Engineering, or a related field.Procurement Expertise: A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in procurement and/or supply chain with direct exposure to managing suppliers. Well-versed in procurement-related systems, processes, and procedures.Managerial Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a leadership role with direct supplier management responsibilities.Industry Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Chemicals, Cosmetics, or Consumer Goods is essential.Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and a background in working within strictly regulated environments.Communication Skills: Comfortable presenting information to groups. Exceptional oral and written communication abilities, complemented by strong presentation skills. Proficient in influencing, persuading, and negotiation.Initiative and Autonomy: Demonstrates self-motivation with the capacity to work independently, delivering on commitments within established timelines.Professional Attributes: Exhibits personal accountability, respect for others, a curious mindset, and a drive to challenge the conventional and pursue excellence.Systems: Experience using ERP and quality systems. Experience using Microsoft office software including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
