The Accounts Payable (AP)/Payroll Specialist ensures that the organization’s vendors are paid on time and manages the payroll functions of the organization, ensuring employees’ pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.Leadership ExercisedCommunicates effectively with all CCUSA staffMust be a team playerPrimary ResponsibilitiesProcesses payment invoices on a regular basis, reviewing general ledger information for accuracyPerforms reconciliations of accounts payable accountsAddresses and responds to vendor inquiriesUploads files for payment through the bankEnters wire transfers as necessaryProcesses/mails/submits form 1099s annuallyCalculates relevant accruals on an annual basisImplements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductionsEnsures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay ratesPrepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactionsEnsures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practicesWork with outside vendors for 401K, FSA and HSA processingFacilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditorsIssue W2s annuallyOnce comfort with the AP and Payroll processes is established, may add bank reconciliations and/or investment reconciliations to assignmentPerforms other related duties, as assignedKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesEmbrace CCUSA’s values and elicit behavior that support those valuesExperience with the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and payrollStrong written and oral communication skillsStrong internal and external relationship building skillsSolid organizational skillsMaintain confidentialityAbility to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlinesAbility to exercise sound judgment and to make timely, value-based decisionsProven ability to work collaboratively with people of diverse cultural and religious backgroundsExpertise with Microsoft Office Suite program, especially Excel in developing complex spreadsheets to arrange, produce, display and analyze dataEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED, Associates Degree in Accounting preferredProficiency with Microsoft Dynamics preferredProficiency with Paylocity preferredThree to five years of AP and Payroll Processing experience preferredThis position may require extended periods of standing, sitting, as well as some repetitive movements, bending and repetitive lifting of minimal weight.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the key components and primary responsibilities.This position has no direct reportsApplication ProcessEmail a cover letter and resume to
