Objective:Heffernan's Walnut Creek, CA branch is looking for an experienced Executive Account Manager to add to their team. The Executive Account Manager position is a lead role that will train, mentor, and assist an assigned account management service team. The Executive Account Manager will provide technical support and education for the service and sales team and assist where necessary in new business sales. Accounts may be fully insured, partially self-funded, or self-insured.Responsibilities Include:Support and Supervise Account Management Service Team:

Coordinate workflow and monitor workload balance for service teamConduct weekly collaborative staff meetingsConduct employee performance reviewsAssist in talent acquisition and managing performance improvementCoordinate team members PTO schedules, ensuring client coverageCoordinate training for new and existing team membersProvide service team with guidance in handling difficult and complex service issuesManage HIB internal policies and procedures to safeguard against potential Errors and Omissions issuesAssist in education to clients.

Account Management Responsibilities for Assigned Accounts:

Marketing and account management for assigned clients.Coordinate all aspects of renewal marketing process with client and provide program structure, review, and analysis.Provide technical competence in areas of coverage and current markets.Prepare written annual account service plans.Conduct and/or participate in annual open enrollment meetings, health fairs, and webinars.Audit client information, premium, and commissions in the HIB client management system - Broker Builder - for assigned accounts.Educate and clarify coverage forms to clients.Assist in spreading marketing results, including benefit comparisons.Maintain Benefits Administration systems for assigned accounts.Thorough documentation is required on each account, while ensuring that proper E&O procedures are followed.Must be able to handle complex accounts that are partially self-funded, or self-insured.Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:Education - High School graduate/GED required.Active Life & Health license.Minimum of 7 years working experience in group health insurance or with a benefits brokerage/consulting firm.Ability to effectively train, mentor, and develop service team members.Adaptable, self-starter, with experienced decision-making skills.Effective communication and collaboration skills, both written and oral.Problem solving, analytical, and marketing skills required.Must be a critical thinker, and capable of identifying complex problems and implement solutions.Must be organized and able to manage time effectively.Must be proficient with MS Suite; particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Able to manipulate and format complex Excel data; experience with pivot tables preferred.Professional demeanor and behavior required, as referenced in our core values (Heffernan Habits).Compensation:The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000. The offer will depend on the geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
