Objective:This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and determined professional to play a fundamental role in building out and managing our new Marketplace division. Heffernan is developing a panel of in-house insurance product platforms, that will provide a best in class offering from a panel of carriers and solutions in the insurance marketplace. Heffernan’s creation of a turnkey marketplace practice will enable us to deliver consistent and compelling solutions, insights, and service platforms to our customers.Responsibilities Include:Engage with Heffernan’s retail brokers to educate and help onboard clients onto the Heffernan Marketplace platforms.Manage and lead internal Marketplace team members. Establish performance indicators for team members and performance manage each member.Collaborate with Marketplace team to establish preferred vendor partnerships to develop a suite of products and tools to proactively support clients’ risk management, cyber, and relative insurance needs.Collaborate with the Marketplace team on business expansion opportunities.Stay educated on current Marketplace landscape and ensure product knowledge – notably around market capacity and exposure issues, risk management, D&O, cyber, management liability, professional liability, terror, and technology resources.Champion our brand identity internally and represent us through professionalism and Heffernan core values.Drive revenue to the Marketplace platform through internal communications, relationships, and data mining.Manage technology and vendor relationships and build out automation practices.Cultivate relationships with carriers to maximize support of the platform.Establish workflows and standard operating procedures for proper engagement with the Marketplace.Lead marketing initiatives of these product platforms.Work toward streamlining the quote/binding process for standard and non-standard placements.Work with Marketplace team to build out infrastructure to support these platforms.Work collaboratively with Finance, IT, and Corporate departments.Ensure industry compliance, as related to licenses, surplus lines, etc.Regularly communicate with and collaborate with Director of Carrier Relations on status of Marketplace programs.Represent the Company at conferences, broker meetings, association presentations, trade shows, etc.Attend specific education courses and training, while helping guide Marketplace team members in their respective territories.Ability to travel as necessary to complete the responsibilities outlined in all Marketplace territories.Special projects and other duties – as assigned.Requirements:Minimum 3 years of relative insurance working experience.Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Will consider a combination of education and experience.Must have a strong presence and able to effectively articulate marketplace platforms, and services.Must be effective and articulate with presentations to brokers and customers.Comfortable working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.Proficient in MS Office: namely Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Excellent communication and collaboration skills required.Professional demeanor and behavior are required, as referenced in the Heffernan core values (Habits).Heffernan Habits (Expectations):These are core values that represent our unique employee culture.Smooth The Path And Be Respectful
