Manager of Accounting Operations

to support its growing operations in Chicago. This position will play a key role in accounting, financial reporting, and strategic management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Serve as a supervisor for general ledger operations staff.Guide monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and reporting processes, including Balance Sheet reviews, account reconciliations, journal entry reviews and flux analysis.Partner and coordinate with upstream and downstream partners to understand and deliver accurate key results, project initiatives, and documentation.Be responsible for all general ledger operations that cover a wide variety of areas including company’s fixed assets, inventory, prepaids, leases, tax, and overall expenditures.Maintain accounting, financial reporting, financial control, and information systems to ensure strong records, appropriate authorizations of transactions, and safeguarding of assets.Develop and implement process improvement initiatives around month-end close, accounting processes and procedures, and financial analysis.Partner with accounting leadership to ensure robust and timely financial reviews, support external audits and tax compliance, including preparation of work papers and other documentation as needed.Be a point person for annual external audit and coordinate with tax consultants to assist with tax filings.Train, allocate work, and resolve issues among personnel.Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines.Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues to be brought to the Controller and CAO's attention.Comply with all federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines and laws.Lead and manage special projects and initiatives as needed.Preferred Qualifications And Experience

Minimum of 5+ years working in Accounting, Audit, Finance, or Healthcare Admin.Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Audit, Business Admin., or Healthcare Admin.Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)Strong knowledge of US GAAPPrevious inventory management experience a plusExceptional customer service skills; cooperative; strong team-playerHigh level of self-motivation with the ability to manage priorities and work independently.Poised and works well under pressure in a fast-paced changing environment.Commitment to continuous improvementHigh level of discretion and ability to handle confidential issues.Experience in healthcare or biotechnology a plus.Experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or other large ERP systems a plus.We are an equal opportunity employer.
