Tempus is looking for an ambitious accountant to support growing operations in Chicago. This position will play a key role in the day-to-day accounting functions and month-end close process.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:Supporting day-to-day accounting functionsResponsible for maintaining and reconciling bank statementsPerforming month-end close tasks and preparing financial statement analysisPreparing balance sheet account reconciliationsReviewing and analyzing general ledger transactions and accountsPreparing supporting documentation for financial statement audit and tax provisions / returnsAssisting manager with preparation of workpapers for tax filingsEnsuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintainedConducting ad-hoc analysis to support leadership requestsDriving continuous improvement in Accounting processesQualifications:
1+ years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within finance, consulting, or technologyBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Tax, Audit, or FinanceExperience with Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced MS Excel skills (Logical Formulas, Lookups, Pivot Tables; experience with Visual Basic and/or SQL a plus but not required)Exceptional customer service skills; cooperative; strong team-playerAn eye for the details and the ability to deliver accurate output in a timely mannerStrong organizational skills and comfort with managing multiple work streamsHigh level of self-motivation with the ability to manage priorities, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and work independentlyPoised and works well under pressure and in a fast-paced changing environmentKnowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Public accounting experience preferredA champion for data accuracy and quality for the Accounting team#LI-GL1#LI-Hybrid
