About the Position

e're seeking a Head of People Operations & Human Resources to establish and lead our HR function from the ground up. As the first HR hire in our startup, you'll oversee all aspects of human resources, including establishing foundational HR infrastructure, fostering a positive workplace culture, building a strong team, ensuring legal compliance, and adapting to the evolving needs of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and oversee all aspects of the people operations function, including payroll management, benefit administration, compliance, and other HR functions.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs to support our organizational goals and foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Lead the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring a seamless experience for new hires and supporting their integration into the team.
  • Act as a cultural champion, fostering an inclusive environment that attracts and retains top talent and aligns with our company values.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including performance issues, conflict resolution, and career development.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, staying updated on relevant labor laws and implementing policies and procedures to mitigate risks.
  • Adapt quickly to the evolving needs and challenges of our startup environment, demonstrating flexibility and resourcefulness in addressing HR-related issues.

Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in HR, with a focus on people operations or similar roles and experienced in startup.
  • Demonstrated success in leading HR functions, including payroll management, benefit administration, compliance, and other HR functions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Experience as the first HR hire in a startup environment.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification.
  • Experience in the healthcare or technology industries.

Compensation, Benefits, and Arrangements:

  • Compensation: 120k~200k plus options & bonus.
  • Location: On-site in Redwood City, California.
  • Job Type: Full-time, part-time, contractor.
