Gently is a logistics start-up with significant pre-seed funding, led by a team of successful serial entrepreneurs in the space. Gently is purposed with enabling retailers to provide delivery services that meet the expectations of modern consumers. Retail is stuck with legacy logistics infrastructure and partners that were never built for modern consumer habits. The Gently subscription turns delivery into a value add for retailers and customers alike. Consumers unlock consistent and differentiated deliveries from their favorite retailers; retail brands leverage a new channel with customers, increasing retention and revenue. We are looking to launch in Q2 2023 in Los Angeles.
We’re looking for a Head of Communications to manage, plan, and oversee all communications and PR activities at Gently. The Head of Communications will be responsible for content creation and ensuring creative, consistent, and effective communication with stakeholders, the media, and the public.
Tasks
- Work with our executive team to build a compelling narrative about our business and mission
- Develop communication programs, initiatives, and collateral material consistent with the needs of the business, analyze their effectiveness, and make recommendations for improvement to the executive team
- Develop high-quality content and collateral for Gently's website and any external facing platforms
- Develop and implement communication strategies to achieve objectives related to media outreach, speaking engagements, conference panels, and social media platforms and engagements for our leadership team
- Track media coverage and follow industry trends
- Anticipate and manage PR issues
Requirements
- 10+ years experience, ideally in a venture capital or startup PR capacity or in an in-house brand or agency role
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Experience driving strategic programs that deliver results, both in-house and with an agency
- Strong project management, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Background in researching, writing, and editing communications materials
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure, on tight deadlines, and in a dynamic startup environment
- Deep network of relationships across the media landscape in the US
- The ability to master the details and distill complex information for external consumption without losing sight of the bigger picture
- Experience with media monitoring and PR platforms to get relevant data analytics
