Assurant has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Business System Analyst!

This job has primary responsibility for the management and leadership role in establishing the process and procedures to ensure efficient and effective controls for functional responsibilities specific to reconciliations systems and support. The position is accountable and responsible for the management of the Blackline tool, configuration, maturation of the tool, reporting, and governance. The manager will be accountable for supporting all implementations and conversions into Blackline to support various functions and processes. This includes initiating and supporting all Blackline testing on new functionality and releases. Will serve as the primary project owner on all reconciliation-related projects impacting Blackline and be the source of all audit requests on Blackline. Reporting to the AVP of Accounting, this role has responsibility and accountability for managing the day-to-day activities, deliverables, and associated cross-functional and strategic initiatives for the administration team. This role will establish and maintain strong partnership with internal teams as well as external stakeholders. Strong focus on establishing processes and procedures to ensure quality and effective controls are in place for areas of functional responsibilities.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Lead, manage, coach, and develop a virtual accounting team offshore resources. Manager will have the responsibility to coaching and developing people managers and/or staff if applicableProvide guidance and direction on reconciliation requirements for areas of responsibility related to the applicationStrong networking and relationship building with business and operational stakeholdersPartner with IT, for area of responsibility, to provide needed analysis and insights related to the application and/or projects impacting the application on a routine basis (minimum quarterly)Accountable for monthly setup and functionality of the application. Will be responsible to ensure timely, quality, and accurate performance of all tasks related to the reconciliation setupsDemonstrate an understanding of related upstream/downstream processes and inter-dependencies related to all data being fed into the applicationDeveloping, enhancing, monitoring, and executing key financial metrics and management reportingManage projects and initiatives including but not limited to, system integrations, acquisitions, and process improvementDistributes assignments and responsible for admin mailbox while ensuring SLAs are met and provides adequate reporting and analysis on monthly resultsCreates and maintains SOPs related to administrative functions and/or project workKeeps up to date on latest Blackline tool functional, management and process trends to identify and implement best practices

What are the requirements needed for this position?

BA or BS in Accounting, CPA strongly preferredMinimum of 8 years of related general accounting experience, insurance preferredMinimum of 4 years of supervisory experienceMinimum of 3 years of Blackline or equivalent experience, matching module a plusDemonstrated working with Oracle ERP or other ERP toolsAdvanced in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically excel, word, and power pointProficiency in analytical skills: gather & analyze data, identify trends and differences, communicate the impact or story appropriately, and ensure relevant resolution for all activitiesLeading and/or supporting transformational initiativesStrong collaboration, delegation, and partnering skills

Other Requirements

Knowledge of US GAAP, STAT, internal controls, financial reporting and data analysis and trending preferredUnderstanding of progressive accounting practices and proceduresWorking knowledge of regulatory requirements (i.e., SOX, audits)Working in an enterprise center of excellence environment a plusAbility to multi-task, work well under pressure and perform in a fast-paced environmentAdhere to strict timelines for recurring deliverables such as quarter-end close activities which may require extended working hours during those periods

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

Microsoft BI Reporting / Cubes a plusPublic accounting and/or Audit experience a plus

Pay Range

$84,100.00 - $140,500.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
