Large specialty chemical company is looking for a Technical Specialist with a BS degree or higher in the sciences and 2 or more years of experience in polymer coatings testing and development. Duties & Responsibilities:
Delivering project results on time, ensuring quality and feasibility, according to business needsDeveloping new products and technologiesDeveloping a fundamental understanding of key coating attributesTesting/support of existing technologies, products, and processesCorrect use of methodologies, tools, and systemsProtection of company technologiesMaintains and promotes a safe work environment and complies with safety policies and procedures. Follows safe work practices for personal and equipment safety, in both the laboratory and in the field. End results are zero or minimum safety incidents and a clean, orderly working environmentConducts a significant level of formulation or technical work (in the lab) as defined in the project planAsks appropriate questions to clarify requirements, expectations, and critical performance parametersDocuments (lab) results, visits, etc. through appropriate reporting systemsIs familiar with and applies relevant experimental, development, and/or analytical approaches and techniquesContribute to test method development as needed, in order to better understand and evaluate coating properties and performanceEffectively collate and report results and propose conclusions and recommendations within agreed timescales using appropriate methods. Explains function/technical concepts in a way that the technical team understands their value
