As part of the Office of Talent Management and Human Resources and the Talent Acquisition team for Development and Alumni Relations, the Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist will have primary responsibility for sourcing talent for current and future openings. Partners with Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to identify talent needs and build effective sourcing and assessment techniques. Helps manage candidate and hiring manager experience through a thorough understanding of expectations.
Reporting to Talent Acquisition Manager, the ideal candidate will foster a collaborative team environment and a strong service oriented culture that ensures effective and efficient service delivery to internal customers and prospective candidates.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops innovative sourcing strategies for talented and diverse candidates through both established and creative methods such as job posting, internal databases, employee referrals, online job boards and databases, online data mining, social media, career fairs, etc.
Demonstrates proficiency with research and candidate generation. Proactively builds and maintains a network of potential candidates through proactive market research and ongoing relationship management. Sources both active and passive candidates and possess the ability to accurately assess people to gauge motivation and fit.
Recommends ideas and strategies related to recruitment that will contribute to the success of the organization; implements new processes and fine tunes standard processes for recruiting that improve effectiveness and service.
Screens and interviews candidates within the framework of a defined position specification.
Develops strong candidate slates through screening, interviewing, and candidate preparation.
Evaluates sourcing channels to determine which ones are most effective and have the highest return on investment; continually seeks new sourcing options and develops creative approaches to delivering candidates to the customer.
Ensures a positive candidate experience throughout the recruiting process. Maintains effective communication and coordination with all parties involved to engage promising candidates and create the right impression of the organization.
In partnership with Talent Acquisition team, develops and implements communication strategies to market the organization to potential applicants.
Works collaboratively with marketing and communications resources to ensure that applicable media (print materials, online presence, social media, etc.) reflect and convey an appropriate image for current and future employees.
Manages, prioritizes, and closes searches against a timeline and set of overarching organizational priorities.
Maintains detailed records of outreach and sourcing efforts.
Provides regular recruiting status reports.
Ensures that recruiting and employment practices are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Participates in special projects and initiatives (optimizing candidate experience, improving interview effectiveness, leveraging internal sources of talent, etc.).
Support full recruiting cycle for assigned openings.
Provides operational and administrative support for the Talent Acquisition team when needed.
Creates and processes requisitions for openings across Development and Alumni Relations.
Verifies funding source(s) for openings, confirms budgetary support, and secures approvals where needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or other related field required.
Minimum of three years of recruitment experience that demonstrates a progressive and pro-active approach to the recruitment of talent.
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education
Must have proficiency working with the web, databases, Microsoft Office, job boards, social media, applicant tracking systems and electronic mail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience building and utilizing a variety of sourcing plans and tools, including proactive phone and internet research.
Demonstrated success sourcing active and passive candidates for professional positions
Creativity, innovation and resourcefulness needed to develop recruitment strategies.
Ability to research, analyze and interpret data.
Strong consulting and negotiation skills needed to be able to provide appropriate counsel and advice.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, judgment, conflict resolution, negotiating, influencing and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of relevant employment laws
Relevant professional certification such as Certified Internet Recruiter, Certified Staffing Professional, Professional Recruiter Certification and/or PHR preferred.
