Apply now.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading independent electronic components distributor to the world's leading contract manufacturers and OEMs. Built around the shared core values of Being amazing today, Demonstrating mutual respect and trust, Acting courageously and Owning our own outcomes, Velocity Electronics is looking to add to our talented global team.What will you be doing?The Director of Sales will lead the Sales function within their assigned region to deliver exceptional experiences and outcomes.Your main areas of responsibility and essential functions will be:Consistent achievement of objectives for sales volume, gross profit, cost control, and market shareIdentify, develop, and drive execution of sales strategies that align with and support organizational goals and objectivesOversee and manage all aspects of Sales operations for assigned region and partner with Sales personnel in other regions to maximize global sales attainmentRecruit, retain, train, manage, and develop Sales personnel in assigned region through Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and directly with sellersDeliver strategic business growth through sales to existing and new Business PartnersOversee the selling process and Sales personnel to deliver to sales and gross profit expectationsDetermine key growth opportunities; coordinate to set and implement strategies to capitalize on themSupport Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) in motivating, training, and assisting Sales staff to manage performance and maximize sales and gross marginAchieve and maintain Approved Vendor status with strategic Business PartnersPlan and perform periodic visits to customer sitesCreate and present periodic reports and presentations detailing sales and gross profit projections and actuals, strategic and tactical plans, and resultsCollaborate cross-functionally to ensure achievement of business objectivesRepresent and communicate Velocity’s culture, core values, and value propositionEducation, Experience, and KnowledgeRequired Education4-year college degreeRequired ExperienceManagement experience in a similar position where you demonstrated relevant expertisePreferred Experience10+ years of sales or business development management experience in the electronic components industryRequired KnowledgeComputer literateProficient with office productivity applicationsPreferred KnowledgeFamiliar with complex ERP systemsElectronic components industryWhat will you bring to the team?Our ideal candidate:Demonstrates mutual trust and respectActs courageouslyOwns own outcomesIs amazingAction oriented, self-driven, strong perseveranceExceptional critical thinking, problem solving and judgmentStrong attention to detail; accurate and thoroughExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to build rapport internally and externally, across functions and levelsThis position is located in Austin, Texas.
