SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for the physical stewardship of property by cleaning and maintaining the Corps, Dining Area, Pantry, and grounds.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Maintain cleanliness and minor repairs of buildings and grounds
Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Maintain equipment and supply closet.
Assist with Risk Management activities of the facility.
Ensure the safety of all people in the corps when a task is being performed by utilizing proper signage and blocking areas when necessary to prevent accidents or injury.
Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
Follow the weekly cleaning schedule provided by the Corps Officers
Prepare rooms for activities, programs, as requested.
Maintain chapel area and prepare as requested for Sunday meetings and classes.
Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies either manually or by using hand trucks as needed.
Notify Corps Officers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to the building operating system.
Complete additional duties assigned by Corps Officers as deemed necessary.

Qualifications
SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:• Working knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment and able to learn acceptable cleaning methods.• Handyman/Tradesman skills preferred.• Must have a good working knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and floor/buffing equipment.• Must have experience with operating manual/power tools in a safe manner.• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.• Ability to drive and work outdoors under adverse weather conditions.• Ability to willingly attend and participate in training sessions.• Valid Driver’s License that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements.We are an equal opportunity employer.
