Tecta America Carolinas, a commercial roofing contractor, provides a full range of quality roofing services, including, commercial and industrial roofing, re-roofs, leak repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and 24/7 service. Tecta America Carolinas started as a small company in 1964 and has grown steadily. We are based in Charlotte, NC with a second office in South Carolina, enabling us to service both states and branch out to West Virginia and Tennessee.We are currently seeking a Superintendent, Commercial Roofing for our Indian Trails, NC location.The Superintendent Commercial Roofing will effectively coordinate administrative efforts with the field efforts. The Superintendent manages the Crew Leaders and will oversees the job in progress to ensure that it is on schedule, meets budget both with labor and materials, and monitors each job’s safety record. The Superintendent and Project Manager work together to schedule material and labor with other departments such as the sheet metal work is coordinated with the Sheet Metal Superintendent. The Superintendent will be in constant contact with the Project Manager to ensure the jobs run on schedule and under budget, and all information needed by the Foremen is provided in a timely manner.Job Functions:Manage and supervise commercial roofing crews and commercial roofing jobsAttend and participate in Pre-construction meetingsRead and understand field books with various construction job scopes of work, plans and specifications to be able to properly plan out jobs and perform work accordingly within schedules and budgetsEstablish lines of communication with external and internal customers (GC’s, Building Owners, Owners Representatives, Consultants, Project Managers, Accounting, Operations, Field Personnel, Etc.) before, during and after job completionInstructs the best practices for roofing production by fully participating in on the job training as well as periodic manufacturer training.Trains employees on safety procedures and safety equipment.Teaches terminology of roofing materials, tools, and equipment and proper use.Plans, administrates, and participates as instructor in company sponsored education programs for new hires and developing roof technicians.Recruits, trains, mentors, and retains a dependable and knowledgeable field personnelEnsure jobs are completed in the most efficient and most cost effective mannerKnowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent; 8-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.5+ yrs of commercial roofing experienceAbility to read and analyze blueprints, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations;Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and write simple correspondence;Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and general public.Strong interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills.Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record.Must not be afraid of heights and must be able to position extension ladder to access roof for roof inspection/survey.Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferredTecta America Carolinas offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, paid holidays, etc.Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.
