Job Description

The Sr. Staff DevOps Engineer will be primarily responsible to design, develop and maintain Virtual appliance application and Infrastructure. Develop and integrate automation scripts to our CI-CD pipeline and handle OPS responsibilities of engineering development cloud infrastructure. Build and create updated Linux and FreeBSD tools packages and qualify this for field deployment.

The development team works on web filtering, policy enforcement, next-gen firewall, sandboxing, DLP, and mobile user solutions. Responsibilities/What You’ll Do

You will develop and sustain features and functionalities of Zscaler Virtual appliances application running on ESXI, Azure, AWS and GCP.You will troubleshoot, identify root cause, and provide fix for the customer reported issues on Zscaler Virtual Appliance application.You will automate and maintain Unit Tests written in C and PythonYou will automate, deployment of the next generation OS and packages to production infrastructure.You will work on Pipeline to create our Virtual appliances VM images for ESXI, Hypervisor, KVM infra as well as for GCP, AWS, Azure public cloud infrastructure.Closely collaborate with QA, DevOps, Product and Security teams to deliver applications to customers.You will recreate customer reported production bugs in various lab environments and work on providing solutions to customer reported issues.You will work on remote application monitoring functionalities to proactively detect issues in customer infra.You will Automate, maintain, and upgrade Cloud applications through Bamboo and Jenkins tools.You will analyze Linux and FreeBSD tools and packages and compile/build new packages for production deployment.You will configure and monitor engineering cloud infrastructure events and alerts. Take necessary actions to address the Alerts.

Qualifications/Your Background

Programming skills in Perl, Python and Shell script and understanding of C, C++ code.Background in Linux/FreeBSD systemsExperience with cloud technologies such as OpenStack, VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP.Work with technologies like Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD platforms.Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance for all our deployments and environments, both internally and externally.Automate and create workloads in Bamboo and Jenkins that enable all engineers to develop high-quality, production code quickly.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$147,000 — $210,000 USD
