GENERAL SUMMARYCCD’s nursing programs are designed to create competent, ethical and confident health care practitioners in an innovative, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
In a context that purposefully embraces faculty empowerment and an organizational heritage for student learning and programmatic excellent and in cooperation with the Practical Nursing Program Chair and other nursing faculty, is responsible for providing didactic, laboratory and clinical instruction.
This is a 9-month position with the option of summer teaching loads.
All summer assignments will be paid in addition to the posted salary.
PRIMARY DUTIESPrimary duties include, but are not limited to, curriculum oversight, teaching (didactic, simulation, laboratory and clinical), student mentoring, student remediation, maintaining accurate records that are in compliance with all State Board of Nursing and ACEN requirements, attending faculty meetings and participation in committees that support the mission of the nursing program. All faculty may be required to teach in days, evening, and weekends as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Any equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Education:Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing who are currently pursuing their Master’s degree in Nursing will be considered.
Experience:Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:•
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in diverse environments.•
Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.•
Effective oral and written communication skills.•
Ability to work effectively as a team member.•
Ability to deliver curriculum in a dynamic environment that engages students.•
Adaptability and organizational skills that will allow supervision of students in laboratory and clinical settings providing appropriate and constructive feedback.•
Technology knowledge and skills that will allow development and integration of current technological educational methodologies in and out of the classroom.•
Demonstrated ability to teach and manage a diverse student group.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:•
Specialized training in Mental Health, Geriatrics, and/or Community Health preferred.•
One (1) year of teaching experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities at the PN level or higher.•
Experience with State Board of Nursing rules and regulations.•
Experience with nursing program accreditation.
Licensure/Certification:Colorado RN
