REPORTS TO:
Construction Field Manager
WORK LOCATION:
3501 N Mountain Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719
COMMITMENT EXPECTED:
10-19.5 hours a week (any Tues/Wed/Thurs/Sat from 7-1pm (will work with school schedule)
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO WORK ON:The Construction Assistant is responsible for working as part of team with both skilled and unskilled individuals under the direction of a Construction Site Supervisor and the Construction Field Manager to construct and rehabilitate housing for Habitat Partner Families. The position routinely works with day volunteers to complete construction related tasks at HFHT build sites. Responsibilities include orienting volunteers to each build site, keeping track of and organizing tools, and assisting with site set up and clean up as well as performing various construction tasks under the direction of a Construction Site Supervisor.

Learn construction related tasks and to facilitate effectively and coordinate processes. These tasks may include: framing, plumbing, electrical, painting and landscapingSafe application of woodworking, finish carpentry, basic hand tools and mechanical skills of the construction tradeTeach unskilled volunteers tasks and to facilitate effectively (if you are comfortable)Participates in work crews of volunteers, prospective homeowner partners, and work camps (DOC) in construction and rehab projectsResponsible for safety and quality of construction.Responsible for keeping tools and equipment in good shape and organizedConstruct Habitat house in accordance with prescribed HFHT guidelines and OSHA requirements.Education and Ex

Up to 19.5 hours weekly. We will work with your school schedule. Any Monday-Friday 7am-3pm
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO WORK ON:As a Construction Assistant at the Chuck Center, you will have the opportunity to work inside our innovative warehouse. You will participate in panelized construction building which involves using pre- assembled jigs to construct wall panels for home construction in a modular way. You will be involved in the assembly of the panels and sometimes traditional on-site construction. Help with inventory count, learn the many aspects of construction trades and work with a team.
Job Duties Include:
