As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for storage of raw material, ingredients and finished product, inbound and outbound shipments and supporting production needs.General Mills encourages growth for our employees; if you want to learn new things, attain and prove competency quickly, and apply technology in the manufacturing space; GMI is a great place to start.Warehouse Forklift OperatorWhat your compensation will look like:Up to 26.54 after successful completion of a 90-day orientation period.Starting rate $21.63Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked on night shift$500 bonus paid upon successful completion of your orientation period (~90 days)Repayment is required if you leave within 12 monthsUp to 15 days (120 hours) of vacation annually (depending on your schedule) and 11 paid Company holidaysGreat paid time off benefits401(k) matchHealth Insurance- Including medical, dental and lifeAnd much more!

Forklift and high lift equipment operation within production and warehouse operationsSelecting, preparing, and loading product for outbound shipment per customer specificationsResponsible for the storage of raw material, ingredients or finished productReceiving, unloading, and inspecting inbound ingredients/packaging materialsPerform all sanitation tasks for shipping and receiving areasParticipate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performanceAssist in training new employees
What your schedule will look like:Schedule:Currently hiring for 2nd shift & 3rd shiftSecond Shift: Sunday through Thursday from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pmThird Shift: Thursday through Monday from 10:00 pm to 6:00 amChanges in volume and production requirements can result in changes in work schedule and additional overtime. Forklift Operators must be willing to work any shift including nights and weekends.Forklift Operators must be willing to work any shift including nights and weekendsPlant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days per weekWhat your growth will look like:Be a part of a team that will learn and growDevelop leadership skills, that will allow you to focus on new KNOWLEDGE and ability to adopt and implement those ideasAbility to operate within a safety cultureExpanded technical capabilitiesWhat you have to offer:Minimum of a high school education or GEDForklift license/certification or willing to obtain oneExperience in a manufacturing/production environment preferredPreferred 1+ years of experience in a material handling environmentPreferred Previous experience with electronic inventory systems (Red Prairie/SAP)Physical requirements:Must be able to lift up to 50 lbsMust be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfacesAbility to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platformsAbility to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net, and gloves when requiredWilling and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environmentAbility to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditionsWilling to work around industrial high-speed moving machineryAbility to work with allergens that might be present in a food environmentNeed to be able to work in a tobacco free environment
