Job Purpose
Under the direction of the Open Sky Education (OSE) and HOPE Christian Schools (HOPE) leadership, the OSE Director of Fath will act as a strategic and dynamic leader ensuring HOPE Christian Schools is a vibrantly Christian community where our team is actively walking with Jesus personally and professionally and where our scholars have ongoing opportunities to grow in their relationship with Christ daily. He/she will support HOPE school teams to deliver exceptional and rigorous faith and character formation of every scholar in alignment with the Open Sky Education Model through a combination of hands-on teaching, shepherding, and professional development as well as strategic management and oversight of our Christian mission and its implementation.
Essential Responsibilities
Regional Leadership
Reflect Christ's love into all corners of our HOPE Christian schools with staff, families and scholars.
Develop and execute the plan to deliver exceptional and rigorous faith and character formation within HOPE.
Oversee the intentional integration of Christian faith formation into all elements of our Staff and Family Policies, Human Resources processes, educational program, marketing and communications, and our facility and website visual components.
Establish faith and character formation metrics and accountability standards
Review school calendars and daily schedules to ensure faith and character formation meets standards
Put systems in place to actively monitor and report on faith and character formation
Provide training and coaching to school administrative teams and instructional staff to Increase their effectiveness in delivering faith and character formation
Plan and deliver methods to support our staff (personally and collaboratively with other HOPE leaders), on their active journeys in growing in their relationship with Jesus and living out their faith, including leading faith/devotion for meetings, offer small group or 1:1 activity, and lead faith-based activities in schools.
Understand and contribute to OSE Education model and faith and character formation resources, including provide support, professional development, and ongoing enhancements to our Chrisitan Character Formation programming.
Support regional process improvement activities specific to faith and character formation
Oversee Chaplains in School partnership
Establish annual partnership goals
Conduct regular (monthly or quarterly) partnership leadership meetings
Manage contract and invoice approval
Attend school chapel services and bible studies
Conduct weekly meetings with each School Chaplain to provide support and coaching to increase effectiveness and alignment to OSE/HOPE Ed Model
Provide support to Principal, Dean of Students, Chaplains, and/or school counselors in scholar related needs or situations.
Build relationships with local church partners and faith-based community partners, maintain lists of partners, and help school teams and individuals connect with partners;
Identify and communicate opportunities for schools to participate in community service projects
Support enrollment and staff recruiting activities, by reviewing marketing content and participating in outreach activities.
Stay informed of best practices and identify opportunities to enhance faith and character formation.
Manage time, people, and resources efficiently and effectively
Be on school sites regularly, and occasionally be available at night or on weekends for school related events (parent-teacher conferences, athletic events, celebrations).
Christian Character
Lives and acts as a Christian role model and Open Sky Education and HOPE Christian Schools representative in his/her life for our scholars, team members and community
Agrees to always comply with our Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith
Agrees to engage in the faith life of our scholars and in collaboration with other team members
Open Sky Education Model Thought Leadership
Understand and contribute to our OSE Education Model
Provide input to enhance national faith model based on HOPE Regional context, experience, and leading best practices
Support educational quality and best practice sharing across Open Sky network
Contribute thought leadership externally through writing, presentations, and membership in appropriate organizations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in theology, pastoral ministry, religious education/or related field, Master's degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in faith formation
At least 3 years in leadership/administrator role
Track record of success and proven results in driving character development and faith formation achievement in supporting urban, lower-income communities
Strong skills in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
