$15.00- $18.00 per hour depending on license status.
Hours/Days:
Will work 6:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday-Saturday. Days off during the week will vary. Must report to work on time, report all absences according to policy, and have no unexcused absences.

The Bus Driver/Van Operator will perform a variety of tasks which include:Driving a vehicle, following all traffic laws, in a manner that will prevent any chargeable accidents, incidents, or passenger injuries.Safely operating a vehicle in all types of weather and road conditionsIssuing day passes for passengers and tracking passenger counts and types.Completing daily pre/post-trip vehicle inspectionsReporting all vehicle or equipment defects to the appropriate person promptly.Providing limited assistance to persons with disabilitiesBenefits we offer:

Ability to work independently in the absence of supervisory personnel.Ability to make sound decisions under stress and think clearly in emergencies.Ability to effectively deal with personal danger including exposure to angry, ill, or violent persons.Ability to safely drive all Transit Department vehicles including vehicles over 30' in length.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to operate computers and other basic office equipment.Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse population of persons.Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to respond tactfully in every situation.Knowledge of all city, and state driving laws, and ordinances.Ability to become proficient in the use of each type of wheelchair lift and mobility device securements.Licenses/Certification Required Qualifications
Requires a High School Diploma or its equivalent.Requires a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience.Must have a valid Texas driver's license or a Commercial Driver's License with a P endorsement or be willing to obtain your CDL with a P endorsement.If holding a CDL without the P endorsement, this must be obtained before orientation.Must be able to pass a standard Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
The City may consider all related education and/or experience in determining an applicant's minimum qualifications and starting salary.
