Job Summary
Barings' Investment Grade Corporate team is seeking an investment professional with five to seven years of work experience for a senior credit analyst position. The candidate selected will join an eleven-person analyst team in Charlotte, NC and will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating investment opportunities for the Investment Grade Corporates team, which manages assets in excess of $56 billion. The Associate Director level candidate will have the opportunity for lead coverage on specific sectors (or sub-sectors).
Primary Responsibilities
Provide analysis of investment grade corporate credits within the Utilities sectorFinancial analysis and modelingEvaluate companies and the risks related to investing in debt securities across the capital structureIndividual security analysis, including capital structure and indenture analysis, cash flow and liquidity analysis and total return and relative value assessmentMeet with management teams, develop industry contacts, and utilize other information sources to become an expert in assigned coverageProduce clear and concise research reports based on independent observation and analysisProduce quarterly industry reviews and communicate recommendations to portfolio managementCollaborate with other Barings' investment teams optimizing efficiencies and framing relative value within sectorsAssist with special ad-hoc projects, presentations and initiativesQualifications
Five to seven years of credit analyst experience-either investment grade or high yield/bank debtCFA and/or MBA preferredClient presentation experience preferredExcellent writing and communications skillsAbility to work as a member of a fast-paced, transaction oriented teamSelf-starter, must be organized and able to work independentlyAbility to prioritize work and multi-task responsibilitiesAbility to perform under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlinesStrong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office applications, Bloomberg, etcSome travel required#LI-JS1
