RESPONSIBLE TO:
Superintendent, Director of MOT, Transportation Coordinator
ASSIGNMENT:
Lowell School District seeks outstanding candidates for the positions of Substitute Van Driver. Our drivers operate District vehicles to safely transport students between school and home, on field trips and school activities. The substitute van driver will fill in for staff out on leave, shortages during vacation periods, or during special events.
DUTIES:
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:Clean driving recordAbility to attain First Aid, CPR and ICC Physical cardsAbility to drive vans and pass type 10 vehicle test requirementsKnowledge of immediate geographic areaAbility to work with students in a supervisory, supportive and positive capacityDesire and ability to work a split shift with reliable attendanceStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to understand and execute verbal and written instructions, policies and proceduresAbility and commitment to practice cultural competency and demonstrate respect for diversityAbility to work efficiently with special needs childrenMust be able to pass a criminal history background check and submit fingerprintsOther duties as assignedWorking Conditions:
Ability to see for purposes of reading laws and codes, rules and policies, and other printed matter and observing students.Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation.Ability to bend and twist, stoop, kneel, run and crawl.Ability to reach in all directions Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.Moderate to high stress level.Visual acuity to monitor students and student activities.Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment.Mental acuity to perform the essential functions of this position in an efficient fashion.TO APPLY:
