Basic Function
Based out of Council Bluffs, Iowa, the Transport Driver is responsible for the handling and transportation of petroleum products at company-owned sites and customer locations. Drivers are responsible for the proper and efficient completion of assigned duties and operation of his or her vehicle within company policy and Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
Job Duties
Safe and legal operation of a commercial motor vehicleSafe and timely transportation of freight to and from destinationOperate controls for loading/unloading product at a variety of sitesClimb ladders to open/close dome lid (must be open for loading/unloading)Inspect truck for defects and safe operating conditionsComplete pre and post trip vehicle inspection reports per DOT regulationsComplete written reports per manager's request in accordance with company policyVerifies Bills of Lading to determine nature of load and check for accuracySubmit written report on truck condition after each trip in accordance with policy and DOT regulationsApply knowledge of commercial driving skills in difficult situations, weather, and tight-loading areasReport all incidents and accidents involving driver or company equipment immediatelyReport delays due to breakdowns, weather, or emergenciesManeuver hoses in, around, and through all types of equipment as neededOther duties as assignedExperience
A minimum of 3 years of experience driving a commercial motor vehicle
Education
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

Work Conditions
Field based. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, and driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, working in confined spaces, and exposure to the risk of electrical shock. Subject to all temperatures and weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
